Mission Statement
My name is Marquis Smith, I’m based in Arizona but on June 8, 2004, I officially became a graduate of Prince Georges County Public School Systems: Suitland High School. I wanted to attend college to become a Pharmacologist, but life provided me with another direction with a myriad of paths to choose from and new goals to surmount, and I would love to construct another path for future leaders as they continue to build what will be the groundwork for their success. I have built a robust career in Information Technology & Data Analytics and that path has helped me forge a way into Entrepreneurship; I want the future leaders to be confident & empowered with their decisions as they embark on life after High School.
Last year in June 2025, 6 students from Oxon Hill High School were awarded funds from the PG Alumni Scholarship to continue their educational studies. If a traditional college/university is not the path forward, the funds from the scholarship can assist in IT Certifications, Cosmetology/Barbering License(s), Mechanic training, Content-Creation, Brand Building, Culinary Arts, Dance, Music, Media, the sky has limitless possibilities just waiting to be explored.
The goal is to give 10 students this 2026 school year in the Prince Georges County School System Scholarships ranging from $250 - $1,000 per student. Each year I want to continue to increase the numbers to helping thousands of students to over $1 million in scholarships awarded. I went to Dodge Park Elementary, Capital Heights Elementary, Glenarden Woods Elementary, Walker Mill Middle School and Suitland High School and each of those experiences helped developed who I am today as a Proud PGCPS Graduate I’ll do all I can to give back what was instilled in me 35 yrs ago when I first became a student in Maryland Public School System.
